Itinerary of the Ribera del Duero Winery Route
The tour includes stops at several traditional local wineries with centuries of history to more modern ones and, in each of them, you will enjoy a wine tasting and discover their flavour, structure and balance. You will learn to identify the nuances of aroma and flavour so characteristic of Ribera del Duero wines, while enjoying the welcoming surroundings and tasting the typical local cured meats and sausages.
The local oenologists will accompany you and make a wine tasting experience that goes beyond just drinking wine.
The winery tours take place inside the winery, including tastings and a guided tour of the facilities.
We will drive in the minivan or mini bus to the first winery in the Ribera del Duero, which will take approximately 2 hours to arrive, during which time you can enjoy the trip and listen to the explanations of the guide who will comment on facts and anecdotes about the region.
Our first stop will be at a modern winery with avant-garde architecture that in a short time has won national and international awards.
You will have a full guided tour of its magnificent facilities and see how the winemaking process is done in this part of Spain, tasting several wines and checking the excellence of each one of them.
We will go to our second medieval wine cellar, excavated 13 metres deep and with a total length of 7 km. This whole network of tunnels through the subsoil was originally intended for the preservation of the wines that were produced from the Middle Ages onwards.
We will learn all about the interesting history of the Ribera del Duero and curious facts while tasting its wines.
We head towards the third winery in a vineyard setting that blends in with the modernity of the space, which is open to the light and the vines. We will taste their wines and see their vineyards.
We return to Madrid after having had a day full of novelties and having enjoyed an unforgettable experience.
Arrival in Madrid will be at approximately 20h at the same meeting point from where we left.
The itinerary is an example and may be subject to change depending on the weather, the date and the availability for wine tourism in Ribera del Duero.
